asked the Minister for Finance if he will give particulars of revenue from tobacco and other customs and excise duties for 1962-63 in the form of a reply of 3rd April, 1962.

The following statements give the information requested:

NOTES:

(1)The Budget Estimate for Tobacco for the year 1962-63 has been taken as £33,130,000 which is £600,000 in excess of the original Budget Estimate. This £600,000 represents the estimated yield from the increase in the rate of duty on Tobacco which took effect from 14th June, 1962.

2) The figures shown above in respect of Customs and Excise duties do not include receipts from the excise duties on motor vehicles.
