asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when it is proposed to commence installing the telephones that have been applied for during the past eighteen months in the Dungarvan area, County Waterford.

Forty applications were received during the past 18 months in the area in question. Seven of these have been met and a further four will be cleared within a few months. It is expected that the majority of the remainder will be cleared by the end of the year.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the number of telephones installed in Dungarvan, County Waterford within the past six months, and the period for which the applicants had been awaiting connection.

Three telephones were installed in the area in question during the past six months. The waiting periods were four weeks, six weeks and 14 months.

Would the Minister state what was the reason that these three were given this priority?

One was carried out in the ordinary course, the first one. The date of application was 27th November, 1961. The second and third were installed on priority grounds. One was in connection with a building contract and the other a ladies' hairdressing saloon.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the number of applicants at this date for telephones awaiting connections for (a) Waterford City, (b) Dungarvan and (c) the rest of the County of Waterford, and the number installed in these areas since 14th November, 1962.

The numbers of applications outstanding in the areas in question are (a) 53, (b) 44 and (c) 117. The numbers of telephones installed since 14th November, 1962 were 40, 2 and 39 respectively.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when it is proposed to instal a telephone for an applicant (name supplied) in the Old Parish district of County Waterford.

It is hoped to provide telephone services for the applicant in question before the end of the year.
