Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Revenue Balances.

6.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the exact amount of the revenue balances on the 1st April, 1963, that are being taken into current revenue, and the amount which would be payable per annum on a debt of such amount, assuming a twenty year redemption, an interest rate of 5¾ per cent and a sinking fund charge of 1¼ per cent.

The amount of the revenue balances which is being taken into the Exchequer as current revenue in 1963/64 is £2.0 million. The service charge on a debt of this amount at 5¾ per cent interest and 1¼ per cent sinking fund would be £140,000 per annum.
