Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - EEC: Ireland's Application for Membership.

1.

andMr. McQuillan asked the Taoiseach if there have been any recent developments in connection with Ireland's application for membership of the EEC.

The only development of significance has been the proposal made by the German Foreign Minister that a consultation procedure should be established by the European Economic Community with the applicants for membership of the Community. We have informed the Member-States of the Community of our positive interest in this proposal.
