Vol. 202 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Withdrawals of Bank Deposits.

1.

asked the Minister for Finance whether there have been substantial withdrawals of money on deposit in Irish banks since the announcement of the Budget proposals.

I have received no representations from the banks to the effect that there have been such withdrawals.

But there have been substantial withdrawals.

The Deputy knows more than I do.

He does, in this case.

The Deputy hopes there have been substantial withdrawals.

He does not.

He does.

The Deputy never has anything like that in his mind, like the man beside the Minister.

Did you take your own out?

Keep out of this row.

I would have a lot more, only for the Minister's activities during the Economic War.

What did the Deputy lose in that?

You are trying to hide behind it now.
