Vol. 202 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Tipperary Water Supply.

39.

asked the Minister for Local Government the reason for the delay in having the people of Lisnamorock, Coalbrook, Thurles, County Tipperary, provided with an adequate water supply, as the danger to health is ever present in this large area, owing to the fact that no supply of any kind is available.

The townland of Lisnamorock is included in the area which will be served by the proposed Coalbrook regional water supply scheme. It is understood that work will be started in the near future on a scheme to serve Coalbrook village and the road to Lisnamorock school and that this scheme will be incorporated in the proposed regional scheme at a later date. The carrying out of the full regional scheme is dependent on an alternative suitable source being found in place of the source originally proposed and which was found by gaugings to be inadequate.
