Vol. 202 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Employees on State Farms.

4.

asked the Minister for Agriculture to what employees on State farms Sections 38 and 43 of the Conditions of Employment Act, 1936, apply; and to what employees they do not apply.

I am advised that these provisions do not apply to any of the employees on State farms administered by my Department.

Would the Minister state if any of the Acts say they are excluded?

I can only tell the Deputy of the advice I have received from those who are qualified to interpret these Acts.

Would the Minister say, even if the Conditions of Employment Act, 1936, states specifically that State employees are included, that they are excluded?

I take it that those who have tendered this advice have examined these matters from every angle.

Not from a biased angle.
