Vol. 202 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Waterford Housing.

8.

asked the Minister for Local Government (1) the number of applications for houses in Waterford city at present, (2) the number of working-class houses in the course of construction there, and (3) the number of houses being constructed there under the Small Dwellings Acquisition Acts.

Information as at (1) is not normally available in my Department. In support of a proposal to acquire land for housing purposes, however, which was submitted to me in August last, it was indicated that there were then 595 applications for houses with the Waterford Corporation. The Corporation had 43 houses in progress at 31st March, 1963. The information requested at (3) of the Deputy's question is not available in my Department.

9.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state in respect of the Waterford County Council the number of applicants for houses in (a) urban and (b) rural areas in the county.

The information requested by the Deputy is not available in my Department.
