Vol. 203 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Board of Works Employees' Working Week.

41.

asked the Minister for Finance why men employed by the Office of Public Works at Rosslare, County Wexford, are not working a 45-hour, 5-day week similar to that worked by Wexford County Council employees, as they are receiving the same rate of wages and are supposed to be working under conditions similar to those of the county council road workers.

The men employed by the Office of Public Works at Rosslare coast protection scheme are not tied to the same conditions as county council road workers. They have a 45-hour week which is spread over 5½ days so as to enable advantage to be taken as far as possible of suitable tides.
