Vol. 203 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Annual Holidays of Insurance Agents.

49.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the present position regarding the claim for annual holidays by full-time insurance agents paid on commission.

There are certain difficulties regarding the interpretation of the Holidays (Employees) Act, 1961 in its application to the agents in question.

To remove all doubts, I am having draft regulations prepared and, in accordance with the provisions of the Act, I will consult the interested parties on the terms of the draft at a very early date.
