Vol. 203 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Issue of Manufacture Licences.

34.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the conditions, if any, under which manufacture licences are issued, in particular to persons intending to set up new industries.

I assume the Deputy refers to new manufacture licences granted under the Control of Manufactures Act, 1932. In considering an application for such a licence, I am bound by Section 6 of that Act to have regard to the conditions prescribed in the Control of Manufactures Regulations, 1932.

35.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce (a) the number of applications for manufacture licences which were received in his Department in each of the past five years, (b) the number refused each year, and (c) the number at present under consideration upon which no decision has yet been reached.

As the information required is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose, with the permission of An Ceann Comhairle, to have it circulated with the Official Report.

Following is the statement :—
