asked the Minister for Finance why the figure for sundry receipts in the Exchequer accounts for the period 1st April to 19th May 1963 was double the figure for the same period last year.
Written Answers. - Sundry Receipts.

The variation arose because the first instalment, £625,000, of Central Bank surplus income was received this year on 14 May whereas last year the first instalment, of £525,000, was not received until 24 May. As may be seen from the latest Exchequer return, the disproportionate variation has now disappeared.
