Vol. 203 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Listing of Circuit Court Actions.

59.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Justice if, having regard to the fact that solicitors acting for parties in Circuit Court actions in Dublin on 14th June, 1963, received from the County Registrar on 6th June, direct written notice of the listing of such actions, he will have steps taken to ensure that like notice of the listing of Circuit Court actions is given in future.

The answer is "No". The notice issued by the County Registrar on 6th June was only in respect of actions going for trial and not in respect of motions before the Court; its issue was due to the fact that owing to a change of publisher the Legal Diary was not published, as is usually done, a week in advance of the Trinity term. Now that the Legal Diary is being published, as usual, giving seven days notice of cases for trial it would be a duplication of work and waste of time to issue a notice from the County Registrar's Office.
