Vol. 203 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sligo Tree-Felling Licences.

48.

andMr. McLaughlin asked the Minister for Lands if licences for the felling of trees have issued since 1957 in the following woods on the Lissadell Estate in the County of Sligo: (a) Church Hill wood (small), (b) Shelter Belt, Holy Well wood, (c) Japanese larch wood, opposite Carney-Ballinfull road to Forester's wood, (d) Holy Well wood, (e) Cat's Corner wood, (f) Shepherd's Flat wood, (g) Flood's wood, (h) timber behind Forester's lodge, (i) Flood's wood, timber opposite Silver Wood, Cat's Corner, and (j) part of Clancy's gate wood; and if he will indicate the dates of such licences.

The issue of felling licences is basically a matter of private concern between the applicant and the Minister for Lands and it is undesirable that the private affairs of a particular owner or his representative should be the subject of discussion in the House.
