Vol. 203 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Galway Dispensary District.

5.

Mr. Donnellan

asked the Minister for Health if he will rescind his decision to abolish Ardrahan dispensary district, County Galway, in view of the fact that two doctors are now trying to perform the work previously performed by three in the area.

Before making the Order giving effect to the proposal of the Galway Health Authority for the abolition of the Ardrahan dispensary district and the division of the district between the dispensary districts of Gort and Kinvara, I had the matter examined fully and was satisfied that the change was desirable and feasible. If the Deputy has any grounds for thinking that the district medical officers of Gort and Kinvara are unable to perform their duties in the revised districts, I suggest that he might take the matter up with the health authority in the first instance.
