asked the Minister for Health the average weekly cost of maintaining a patient in (a) Saint Ita's and (b) Saint Brendan's Hospital, Dublin.

The information requested by the Deputy is included in accounts furnished annually to my Department by the Dublin Health Authority. The latest available accounts, which are subject to audit, are in respect of the year ended 31st March, 1962, and show the average weekly cost per patient to have been £4 9s. 8d. in respect of St. Ita's Hospital and £6 14s. 9d. in respect of St. Brendan's Hospital.
