Vol. 204 No. 3

Social Welfare (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill, 1963—First Stage.

Leave granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to amend and extend the Old Age Pensions Acts, 1908 to 1962, the Unemployment Assistance Acts, 1933 to 1952, the Widows and Orphans Pensions Acts, 1935 to 1952, the Social Welfare (Childrens Allowances) Acts, 1944 to 1957, the Insurance (Intermittent Unemployment) Act, 1942, and the Social Welfare Acts, 1952 to 1962. —(Minister for Social Welfare.)

On the 18th.

When will it be circulated?

Early next week, probably Monday or Tuesday.

If by any chance the sections of the Finance Bill ordered for Tuesday were to be finished, that might be a suitable time to take it, that is, if it has been circulated.

We can order it for Tuesday.

Perhaps the Taoiseach would confirm that this building has to be cleared for a full three months for the builders?

I understand it would certainly convenience the contractor responsible for construction, if he got the Dáil and Seanad out of occupation for a period of three months.

Maybe they would lay off the noise until we do adjourn.

It is as good an excuse for closing down as I ever heard.

Committee Stage ordered for Tuesday, 9th July, 1963.
