Vol. 204 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Carrickmacross Telephone Service.

25.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he has received further representations from the Carrickmacross Urban District Council relative to the inadequacy of the telephone services in that area; and what steps he proposes to take to remedy the situation.

I have received the representations referred to and have arranged for a special examination and overhaul of the local equipment and network. This is still in progress. Certain defects have been found and rectified but a good deal of further adjustment and testing remains to be done. It is hoped to have the work completed shortly.
