Vol. 204 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Swimming Pools.

34.

asked the Minister for Local Government if there are any proposals before his Department for the provision of swimming pools in Dublin; and, if so, their proposed location; and when it is expected that work will (a) commence and (b) be completed in each case.

A proposal for the provision of an indoor heated swimming pool at Willie Pearse Memorial Park, Crumlin, was approved in principle on 19th June, 1963. It is not possible at present to indicate when the work is likely to commence or to be completed. I understand that the Dublin Corporation is deferring the submission of proposals for other pools until experience is gained in the erection and operation of the Crumlin project.
