The council have been informed that the reconstruction of this footbridge was not regarded as a public amenity work within the meaning of that term for the purposes of the grant scheme and in the circumstances did not qualify for a grant. The council have now asked that this decision be reconsidered. A reply will issue to the council as soon as the question has been re-examined.
