asked the Minister for Local Government the net rates payable by farmers in each county in 1963-64 (1) on a holding of £20 land valuation and (2) on each maximum size of holding affected by sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Rates on Agricultural Land (Relief) Act, 1962, excluding employment allowances.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 138, 139 and 140 together.

The information requested in respect of 1961-62 and 1962-63 was furnished in reply to questions by the Deputy on the 6th December, 1961, (Dáil Debates, Vol. 192, Col. 1313) and 19th July, 1962, (Dáil Debates, Vol. 196, Col. 2878). The increased primary allowance (seven-tenths of the general rate in the £) provided under section 3 of the Rates on Agricultural Land (Relief) Act, 1962 applies to all holdings of agricultural land with valuations up to £20 and to the first £20 of higher valuations. The supplementary allowance (one-quarter of the general rate in the £) provided under Section 4 of that Act applies to land valuations in excess of £20.
