Mr. Norton

asked the Minister for Lands (a) the number of estates in County Kildare at present in the possession of the Land Commission for division: (b) their location (c) the area comprising each estate; and (d) when it is proposed to divide each one.

71.

Mr. Crinion

asked the Minister for Lands the names, addresses and the acreage of each holding which the Land Commission has at present in Kildare constituency, or for the counties involved if the information is not available for the constituency; and if he will give the length each one has been in the possession of the Land Commission.

Mr. Norton

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission have acquired the Drinnanstown Estate at Rathangan, County Kildare; and, if so, when the lands in question will be divided.

Mr. Moran

330 acres in Drinnanstown North and Drinnanstown South have been acquired and possession passed to the Land Commission two months ago. It is still too early to forecast when allotment will be feasible but there will be no avoidable delay.

Mr. Norton

Is there any likelihood that any portion may be divided by next spring?

Mr. Moran

The Deputy will appreciate the lands have only just come into the possession of the Land Commission.I cannot say at the moment when a scheme can be prepared. If it is possible to do so, I am sure they will do it by next spring.
