Vol. 205 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Strokestown (Roscommon) Estate.

73.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware that the estate of Mr. T.E. King, of approximately 445 acres, at Toberpatrick, Strokestown, County Roscommon, is up for private sale; and whether the Land Commission will take immediate steps for its acquisition for division.

I am aware that a sale of this property is contemplated. The Land Commission have already instituted proceedings for acquisition of part of the estate but, without prejudice to these proceedings, they are having inquiries made regarding the balance of the lands. The owner's solicitor has been informed accordingly.
