Vol. 205 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin GPO Money-Changing Facilities.

98.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if his attention has been drawn to a complaint regarding the inadequate facilities available to the public requiring change to operate telephones in the GPO in Dublin; and whether remedial action has been taken thereon.

No complaint was made to me in the matter but I have seen the letter in question published in a daily newspaper.

Special arrangements are in force at the telegraph counters in the GPO to supply change as required. In addition officers at the other counters supply change when this is required for a telephone call.

These arrangements work satisfactorily. They will be supplemented when change-giving machines, now on order, have been installed.
