The provision of hotel accommodation is not a function of Bord Fáilte. It is, however, a function of the Board to inspect and register hotels and to provide financial assistance towards the development of holiday accommodation generally.
It is my intention to circulate to Deputies Notes for Information prior to the debate on the Estimates for my Department. These Notes will include information on the activities of the State companies under my supervision and I will arrange to include a statement which will show the increase in the number of rooms in each grade of registered hotel accommodation which has occurred since 1958.
