Vol. 205 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Small Dwellings Acquisition Loan.

40.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that a person (name supplied) received a small dwellings acquisition loan, No. 10218, in 1961; that he applied for a loan of £1,730; that the over-all expenses, including the cost of building, professional fees, stamp duty, etc., amounted to £1,845; that he subsequently received approval for a loan of £1,168; and that he is unable from his income to meet the difference between the loan approval and the cost as set out; and if he will consider favourably approving an increased small dwellings acquisition loan.

I understand that the loan made by the housing authority in this case represents 95 per cent of the value of the house, as determined by them in accordance with the relevant statutory provisions.
