Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - River Pollution

42.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he has received the report of the Inter-Departmental Committee enquiring into the control of water pollution; and if he will introduce legislation at an early date to effectively stop the pollution of the Rivers Liffey, Camac, Dodder and Tolka and of other Dublin rivers.

I have not yet received the Committee's report but I understand that it will be submitted shortly. The need for more effective legislation to deal with water pollution will be considered in the light of the Committee's recommendations.
