NOTES:

1. The information has been obtained from Dublin Corporation.

2. The information relates to "families" as information relating to "persons" is not readily available.

3. "Condemned" buildings include unfit dwellings the subject of compulsory purchase, demolition or closure action under the Housing Acts and action under the Dangerous Buildings Code.

4. A small number of illegal "squatters" is included in the figure at (d).

5. There is some overlapping between the different categories which cannot readily be eliminated.

21.

asked the Minister for Local Government when he considers that the present emergency situation in respect of rehousing persons living in dangerous buildings in Dublin city will be ended.

Dublin Corporation are at present reserving all vacancies for persons being rehoused from dangerous buildings. This policy is being kept under constant review, but I understand that the housing authority do not foresee any appreciable change in the situation in the immediate future.
