Vol. 206 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Court Proceedings for Non-Payment of Insurance Contributions.

21.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state in respect of court proceedings involving the non-payment of social welfare contributions by a building contractor (particulars supplied) (a) when proceedings were taken, (b) when hearing commenced, (c) when hearing concluded, (d) what judgment was given, in particular in relation to the recovery of the money involved, and (e) whether judgment has yet been enforced, and, if not, why.

Civil proceedings for recovery of arrears of social insurance and intermittent unemployment insurance contributions and summary proceedings for failure to stamp and return arrears cards were taken against the contractor concerned on the 13th September, 1962. The hearing was completed on that date, decrees being given for the amounts claimed and fines totalling £3 imposed on the summary charges. No payment has yet been received on foot of the decrees, for the enforcement of which the local State Solicitor is responsible.
