Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Aer Lingus Jet Aircraft Purchase.
5.
Aer Lingus have ordered four BAC One-Eleven aircraft for service primarily on the company's continental routes; no proposal has been made to me by the company for the purchase of jet aircraft for normal use on the Dublin-London route. The aircraft are expected to be delivered in 1965. The purchase price of the aircraft and supporting equipment and development expenses is approximately £5 millions. The purchase will be financed by means of £2 millions equity capital to be provided from the Exchequer and the balance will be provided from the company's own resources and by borrowings which are at present being negotiated.
