Vol. 206 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Pay Increases for Temporary Clerical Assistants.

21.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Finance the last date upon which an increase was paid to temporary clerical assistants; and whether a further increase is now contemplated to compensate them for increases in the cost of living.

The pay of temporary clerical assistants was last increased with effect from 1st November, 1961. A claim for a cost-of-living increase in the pay of civil servants generally is at present being processed through the conciliation and arbitration machinery for the Civil Service.
