asked the Minister for Local Government what proposals are at present before his Department from the Dún Laoghaire Corporation for additional houses in Dún Laoghaire Borough; what proposals have been sanctioned; when work is expected to commence on those already sanctioned; and what proposals are still under consideration.

Dún Laoghaire Corporation were informed on 6th instant that no objection was seen to the plans prepared by them for a scheme of 142 houses at "Rockford", Stradbrook Road, Blackrock. A layout plan for 26 houses on a site at Yankee Terrace, Newtownpark Avenue, was received in my Department on the 7th instant and a proposal for the acquisition of a site at Mount Town House, on which it is proposed to erect 160 flats, was received on the 16th ultimo.

I am not in a position to say when work will commence on these schemes.

asked the Minister for Local Government what proposals are at present before his Department from the Dublin County Council for additional houses in the Rathdown area; what proposals have already been sanctioned; when work is expected to commence on those already sanctioned; and what proposals are still under consideration.

Proposals for the acceptance of tenders for 88 houses at Dundrum and 46 houses at Stillorgan were approved on 25th May, 1963, and 22nd August, respectively, and I understand that work is in progress on both schemes.

A proposal to extend the contract for the 46 houses at Stillorgan so as to provide for the erection of a further 20 houses on the site was received in my Department on the 6th instant and is under examination.

Plans and an estimate of cost for development work on a site for 62 houses at Shankill were approved on 15th October, 1963. Tenders have been invited for the houses. I am not in a position to say when building work will commence.
