Vol. 207 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Memorial to Late President Kennedy.

1.

asked the Taoiseach if he will give details of the proposed memorial to the late President John F. Kennedy.

I would refer the Deputy to the official statement on the matter which was issued on the 17th of this month, in the course of which it was intimated that the State memorial to the late President Kennedy would take the form of a concert and assembly hall to be erected in the city of Dublin and that a Committee comprising members of the three main Parties in this House would be set up to consider the legislative and other arrangements to implement the proposal.

The Committee has since been set up and is expected to hold its first meeting at an early date.

Until the Government have received and considered the recommendations of the Committee, it would not be possible to add anything to the official statement on the matter.
