Vol. 207 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mobile Ice Cream Vendors.

27.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if, having regard to the serious damage being done to the business of Irish-owned ice cream manufacturers and Irish-owned shops by sales on the public streets of soft ice cream from motor vans owned by foreign concerns, he will introduce legislation to prohibit such sales in future.

I do not consider that the public interest requires the introduction of legislation on the lines indicated.
