Vol. 207 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Hawkers' Licences.

2.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Finance the number of hawkers' licences issued annually in respect of (a) Dublin City and County and (b) the whole State; the revenue earned therefrom; and in respect of what mode of trading the licences are required.

The number of hawkers' licences taken out in Dublin city and county in the year ended 31st March, 1963 was 45; and in the whole State, 868 such licences were taken out in the same period. Revenue receipts from these licences were £16,860.

The circumstances in which liability to hawkers' licence duty is incurred are explained in the Revenue Commissioners' Notice No. 103. I have arranged to have copies of the Notice made available to the Deputy.
