Vol. 207 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Discrepancy in Telephone Charges.

34.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that the price of a telephone call from a public kiosk in Ballintra, County Donegal to Enniskillen, County Fermanagh is three pence whereas a similar call from a private subscriber (name supplied) to the same town costs 1/3d.; and, if so, if he will explain the discrepancy.

The kiosk in question, which was opened in December last, is given night service from Ballyshannon exchange. During its first few weeks in service, a small number of night calls were charged at Ballyshannon rates instead of those appropriate to Ballintra. The error was corrected early in January.
