Vol. 207 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Electricity Supply to Dublin Barracks.

43.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Defence what progress has been made in the installation of a new electricity supply to married quarters in Cathal Brugha Barracks; and when the work will be completed.

The work of checking and repair of internal wiring and segregation of quarters for the purpose of providing individual supply is about 60 per cent completed. It is expected to be finished before the end of next month.

The new supply line to the quarters has been laid but its connection to the electricity supply must await the delivery and installation of certain switch gear on order. Delivery of this gear is expected this week and the new cable will, it is anticipated, be functioning by the end of this month.
