There is no proposal at present before my Department for the provision of a vocational school at Newtowncashel.
In 1955, the Longford Vocational Education Committee had under consideration the building of a one-roomed school but the matter was deferred pending the provision of a new school at Lanesboro'.
The Lanesboro' school has since been built and the vocational committee has not renewed its proposal in regard to a school at Newtowncashel.
