Vol. 207 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - OECD Education Survey.

54.

asked the Minister for Education if, in view of his statement that the Report of the OECD Survey Team on Investment in Education will be completed in October, 1964, and his statement in the February issue of a monthly journal that the team would be reporting next year, he will now state when this Report will be issued to Members of the Dáil.

The agreement with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, in accordance with which the Survey of Investment in Education is being carried out, provides that the survey shall be completed not later than on 30th September, 1964. I understand that the Survey Team hopes to complete its task and present its report to me by that date. At the same time a copy of the report will be submitted to OECD. Until the report has been considered by the Government and by OECD it will not be possible to arrange for its printing prior to publication. I am, therefore, not in a position to say definitely when the report will be published but I would hope that it would be issued early next year.

55.

asked the Minister for Education if the OECD Survey Team's Report on Technician Training has been received by his Department, and, if so, when he will issue copies to the Members of the Dáil.

The report has not yet been received by my Department. As already explained, its publication is a matter for OECD.

Copies of the report when received will be made available in the Oireachtas Libraries.
