Vol. 208 No. 1

Written Answers. - Division of County Dublin Estates.

91.

asked the Minister for Lands (a) the reason for the delay in dividing estates acquired by the Land Commission at Coolquay, The Ward, County Dublin, and the Ennis Estate outside Balbriggan, (b) whether these lands have been let, (c) the letting price per acre, (d) the date on which such lettings will terminate, and (e) the total acreage of each estate to be divided.

I presume the estates which the Deputy has in mind are (1) the Kennedy estate and (2) the Ennis and Sweetman estates.

Following are the replies to the various parts of the question:—

(a) These properties did not vest in the Land Commission until 7th June and 12th December last, respectively, and it has not been possible to formulate resale proposals in time for the current allotment season. (b) Yes. (c) Approximate letting price per statute acre: Conacre—£11 10s.; Grazing—£9 10s. (d) 1st October, 1964 (conacre lettings) and 1st December, 1964 (grazing lettings). (e) Kennedy estate—279 acres; Ennis — Sweetman estates — 276 acres.
