Vol. 208 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Local Authority Pensioners.

7.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will consider providing in the coming Budget for an increase in the pensions of local authority employees who retired after the granting of the seventh round post-war wage increase and who, therefore, do not benefit from the increase at present proposed for local authority pensioners.

Pensions of local authority employees have been increased from time to time on the same basis as other public service pensions. The present position as regards increases in public service pensions generally has been indicated in my reply to the Deputy's question of 3rd March.
