Vol. 208 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Wexford Housing Schemes.

36.

asked the Minister for Local Government what housing schemes are in his Department from Wexford, New Ross, Enniscorthy, Gorey and Ferns, County Wexford; and when such schemes will be commenced.

A proposal by Enniscorthy urban district council to accept a further tender for a 28-house scheme at Bellefield, Enniscorthy, was submitted for my approval on 25th February, 1964, and is at present under examination. I cannot say when work on the scheme is likely to commence. There are no current housing proposals from the other authorities before my Department.

Can the Minister give any indication when his Department will sanction the Enniscorthy scheme?

We have had it for nine days at the moment, and I should imagine we would not take very much longer. It will depend on what may arise from our consideration of it.
