Vol. 208 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - New Dublin Hospital.

6.

asked the Minister for Health if there has been any change in the proposal of the St. Laurence Hospital Board to build a new hospital at Carragh Road and Navan Road, Dublin.

There has been no change in the position regarding the provision of a new St. Laurence's Hospital. I have indicated on many occasions the difficult situation which obtains in regard to the financing of capital projects which rely entirely or substantially on the Hospitals Trust Fund. The St. Laurence's Hospital project is kept under constant review in conjunction with other hospital developments and the present hospital will be replaced as soon as priorities and funds available permit.

As the deputy will be aware, work is at present in progress on two major hospital replacement projects in Dublin.
