I would refer to Deputy to the announcement on this subject made on the radio last evening and in this morning's press. Comhlucht Siúicre Éireann have reduced the proposed increase to £8 a ton.
Is the Minister aware that packers of sugar are unable to get supplies and that in fact during this week there will be unemployment?
That is a matter for the users and Comhlucht Siúicre Éireann.
Would the Minister not use his good offices to ensure that these people will not be out of employment?
That has been one of my main concerns during the past few weeks.
