The only information regarding retail prices available to the Central Statistics Office is that obtained at the Consumer Price Index inquiries which are made at mid-February, mid-May, mid-August and mid-November each year. The national average retail prices of the commodities specified as ascertained at the mid-February, 1964 inquiry were as follows:
