The Avoca Copper Mines are being kept on a care and maintenance basis. Tenders have been invited from commercial interests for the purchase of the State's interest in the company. Indications of an interest in acquisition have been received from a considerable number of persons, and the latest date for the submission of tenders is the 31st May, 1964.
