Increases in the pensions of certain local authority pensioners were authorised in a circular letter which issued from my Department on 29th January, 1964. These increases were effective from 1st November, 1963. The question of granting further increases to local authority pensioners is one which would arise for consideration in connection with any adjustment of public service pensions generally. The position in relation to public service pen- sions is as indicated in my reply of 12th March last to a question by Deputy Treacy.
