Vol. 209 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Air Pollution.

41.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state, with regard to the examination of air pollution being carried out by Dublin Corporation since 1960, whether any firm evaluation of the degree of pollution in Dublin city and of the remedial measures which may be practicable has been established; and, if so, its nature.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply to his previous question on this subject on 30th January, 1964. It is generally considered that measurements for a minimum period of five years are necessary before a firm indication of the trend of pollution in an area can be reached. Remedial measures which may be taken in the meantime are being considered.
