36.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether an intensive campaign has been made by Córas Tráchtála or by any other State sponsored company under his aegis with a view to seeking an increased market abroad, particularly in the dollar countries, for Irish whiskey; and if he will indicate its nature, and the amount spent by these Boards on such campaigns during each of the past three years.

Córas Tráchtála have collaborated with the Irish whiskey distillers in a special advertising campaign for the promotion of the sale of Irish whiskey in the United States. The campaign which commenced in the year 1957/58 continued until the year 1961/62.
