Vol. 209 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Building Sites.

42.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is in a position to state when building will commence on the cleared sites in the Dorset Street-Dominick Street-Bolton Street areas of Dublin North-Central constituency.

A proposal to enter into a contract for the erection of 137 flat dwellings at Upper Dominick Street-Upper Dorset Street was approved by me on 21st March last. It is expected that work will commence next month.

A scheme of 58 flat dwellings at Lower Dominick Street, Section 2, was deferred by the Corporation in order to examine the possibility of providing semi-underground car parking within the boundaries of the site. I approved in principle on 30th April last of the proposal to provide such a car park and detailed plans are now awaited from the Corporation for the car park and the flats.
